Last weekends two ball scramble was won by John McGuinn & Pat Conroy with 59pts, 2nd Aisling Gaughran & Charlie O’Donnell 63.5pts, (note Charlie Aisling is spelt without a h) 3rd Sean Heslin & Michael Rush 64.75pts. Thursday night’s Competition was won by Gary Carty 23pts, 2nd Owen Garvin 20pts, 3rd John McGuinn 20pts. Fridays scramble was won by Adrian King, Maura O’Farrell & Sean McLoughlin, 2nd Lorcan Egan, Lucy Gaffney & Pat Conroy, 3rd Liam Whyte, Eithne Gaffney & Cillian Doyle. This was the last of the scrambles for the season. Thanks to all who took part, to Mary for her food and to all those who looked after the bar. The weekly nine hole was won by Michael Reid 24pts, 2nd Owen Garvin 20pts. In King Harmon news well done to Martin Wynne who is the 2014 champion with commiserations to beaten finalist Jonathan Egan. Thanks to all who took part in the competition.

Competitions this week are the weekly nine hole Monday – Saturday and the Mens Competition on Thursday. Next Sunday will be an 18 hole stroke and will be the final round of the Golfer of the Year. Top of the leaderboard is Tom Kearney with Gary Carty 2nd & Gerry Carty 3rd. Presentation of prizes will take place next Sunday evening and will be followed by the Club Draw. The draw for the winter league will also take place. Entry sheet is on the noticeboard.

A club outing to New Forest Golf Club will take place on Saturday October 11th. Cost will be €30 plus €5.00 for prizes. Please put your names on the noticeboard.

Well done to our Ladies who were joint winners in the three ball ILGU Charity event in Bundoran last weekend. Well done also to Peggy Feely who had a hole in one in Castledargan

Martin Wynne’s “FIFTEEN YEAR WAIT” for second King Harmon win is finally over

Martin Wynne finally ended a fifteen year wait for a second mini major this evening when he beat Jonathan Egan in this years King Harmon Final. Commiseratons to Jonathan but well done to Martin on a a great victory. Sorry must dash, Aisling on the phone looking for Martin’s address.

Breaking News……..Incoming Club Captain issues statement in “Teeing off gate”scandal

Incoming club Captain Michael Rush was forced to issue a statement this evening following the publication of a photo (below) appearing to show him teeing off incorrectly on the 7th Commenting  on the “teeing offgate” scandal the  incoming Captain denied the report saying that he was in fact taking his second shot. Witnesses to the event have confirmed this, one commenting, “I think the tee shot actually went backwards”.

Amid allegations of an invasion of privacy, the “journalist” who broke the story defended the rights of the free press also adding that he didn’t want his name released.

Last Sunday’s Turkey competition was won by Owen Garvin 23pts, 2nd Liam Whyte 23pts, 3rd Captain Rush 21pts. The weekly nine hole was won by President O’Donnell 21pts, 2nd Liam Mullaney 21pts. Next Sunday will be third of the Turkey competitions. The weekly nine hole will take place Monday – Saturday.

The Mens AGM took place last Sunday. Captain Padraig O’Connell thanked the members, officers and Committee for their great support during the year. He said it was a great honour to be Captain and wished the incoming Captain Michael Rush and Vice-Captain Ross Andrew best wishes for 2015. The Captain was thanked by the members for his great contribution and the support he gave to the club.The Secretary Brendan Gaffney gave a report on the clubs activities during 2014 He thanked all the officers, and members for their great support. The Treasurer Liam Mullaney gave a financial report for 2014. Open week had been a great success and competition revenue had held up well. Tributes were paid at the meeting to all the volunteers with special mention for Michael Rush, John McGuinn, and Lionel Lynn. Sympathy was expressed to those who suffered bereavements during the year. Get well wishes were extended to those suffering from ill health. The full list of officers elected is Captain Michael Rush, Vice-Captain Ross Andrew, President Charlie O’Donnell, Secretary Brendan Gaffney, and Treasurer Liam Mullaney. The AGM of the Parent Club will take place on Sunday December 7th at 5.00 in the Clubhouse.

In Ladies news best wishes to incoming Lady Captain Sandra McCrann and Vice-Captain Tish Perry.

At the Club EGM last Sunday evening amendments to the Club constitution were adopted. Club Captain Padraig O’Connell thanked all those who took part in the Constitution sub committee and all the members for attending the EGM.
